Relationship Advice For The 21st Century - 'Minimalism & Relationships: Consume Less, Love More' An eBook

An Announcement

It is my pleasure to present my new (and first!) book: Minimalism & Relationships: Consume Less, Love More.

My goal for this book is to help everyone out there who feels that their love life is being crushed by all of the responsibilities we, as adults, have.

Responsibilities like:

  • Running a business
  • Working on demanding jobs
  • Being a parent
  • Paying bills, bills and more bills!

The Case For Simplicity

Many of us are crying out in frustration. So desperate to keep everything else afloat, our relationships are suffering as a result.

We are being overwhelmed by our hectic lives.  At home, we're often too stressed or zoned out to interact with our partners in any meaningful way.

Those kinds of circumstances lead couples to feel as if they are living together as roommates, instead of life partners.

Earlier in the summer, when I was first contemplating writing this book, something changed dramatically in my  life.

While doing research for an earlier blog post, I stumbled upon the blogs and writings of two fascinating individuals:  Tammy Strobel and Leo Babauta.

They are popular bloggers who write about how to live a far more simple, yet very fulfilling life.  That message really resonated with me. It inspired me to begin to de-clutter and simplify my life several months ago.

It has been one of the best decisions I've EVER made.

Then the thought struck me, "What if people re-examined their lives to determine what is really necessary and important for them to live, versus what was just serving as a needless distraction? How would committed relationships and marriages benefit?"

A New Inspiration

From that thought the inspiration for this book was born.  Its  premise is very straightforward:  how living more simply can create more space in our lives to nurture our relationships.

Please check out more specific details about the book here: Minimalism & Relationships.

Again,  I want to thank all of my fantastic readers for their support!

Wishing you much success,

Terez

Wow Terez! That's a huge announcement. It's interesting to me, because I too discovered those 3 bloggers and was very inspired by them in the past year. While I'm nowhere close to their level of "de-cluttering", I've been taking steps in that direction. I can't wait to read your book and get your perspective on it. Congratulations for this accomplishment!

Melissa, thank you so much for kind words of encouragement! Learning to simplify my life has been a HUGE boon for me, though I have a little ways to go before I can catch up to Everett Bogue. Living with less than 100 things, wow! I truly believe if more couples just took some of the steps toward de-cluttering and streamlining their lives, their relationships would profit immensely.

I'm so glad that you've turned your ideas into an ebook. Living simply is a big trend these days, and I can see why. Life can be complicated, but we often needlessly complicate it. Congratulations Terez!

Thanks so much Tina! In the past few months, beginning the process of simplifying my own life has help me decrease my stress levels a hundred fold! I agree that we often over-complicate our lives because we live in such a "Go, Go, Go!" society. Slowly things down, forces you to recognize what's truly important in life. As the old saying goes "Life is not a dress rehearsal!"

Enjoyed your e-book Terez. My wife and I have been living a minimalist lifestyle during our entire relationship and we've been together for almost 10 years. We've lived without a TV for a long time and are doing quite nicely. We can find everything we need or want to see on the internet. Congratulations on your book and continued wishes for success.

Hi Terez-

I didn't see this the first time around, but I'm glad I caught it! Congrats! I suppose a copy would be in order for me. I'm on the verge of something here and keeping it simple works for me... Great stuff.

Streamlining our lives really can help place what is truly important in our lives, like our marriages and relationships, in proper perspective The key is to take small, practical steps. My belief is the dividends you receive living more simply will far outweigh any perceived sacrifices which may need to be made in the short term. Thanks for your kind words and support MIke. I wish you all the best!
