7 Romantic & Fun Date Night Ideas Under $100!

If there is one topic that would have me shouting from the rooftops, it would be this: having a fun, romantic date with your partner does not have to cost a small fortune!

With our recent economy, many of us have been pinching our pennies a little more lately. However, you can still have plenty of fun and romance if you think out-of-the-box and be a little creative.

To help get your creative wheels turning, I have listed below seven great date night ideas, all of which cost far below $100.  Please use this list for inspiration for your next romantic date:

  1. Plan a movie night at home.  With services such as Netflix and iTunes, you don't have to deal with the cost and hassles of buying expensive movie tickets, traffic to/from the theater, and movie concessions you have to mortgage your house in order to afford.  Now, you can have many popular movies and t.v. series streamed directly to your television.  All you have to do is order your favorite take-out, sit back and relax while watching your selected film - right from the comfort of your home.
  2. Buy tickets to a local play.  Hollywood and Broadway are not the only locales featuring top-notch actors. Do not underestimate the fantastic talent showcased in numerous community theaters across the country. Patronizing a local play is a great alternative to going to the movies. Additionally, the ticket prices are a fraction of those of touring Broadway productions. You will also be supporting your local artists!
  3. Attend a poetry reading.  Many coffee shops and local theaters feature poetry nights. If you are open to the idea, it can be the perfect setting for an intimate, romantic evening.
  4. Watch the sunset. Few events are more romantic than watching a beautiful sunset with that someone special.  Just pick a scenic spot, grab a bottle of wine (or your favorite beverage) and enjoy!
  5. Go on a hay ride.  If you live in an area where this is feasible, a hay ride can make for a very lovely evening. In colder temperatures, remember to dress appropriately - and bring a blanket to snuggle under!
  6. Spend the evening on the beach.  Pack a picnic basket, take a blanket, find a secluded spot and enjoy!
  7. Star gaze.  This one is a favorite because you can do it in a variety of settings - at the beach, a park, from a roof-top deck, or right in the back yard. It is a perfect setting for admiring the beauty of creation with the one you love.

So, there you have it, seven great date night ideas you can enjoy while not having to break the bank.   Remember, all romance truly takes is you, your partner and a little creativity.

Have fun!
